A fine mahogany bracket alarm clock by John Taylor, the rectangular case enclosing an arched gilt and steel face with a clock-face, a silent/strike dial and a date window, the double fusée, 8-day, verge escapement movement covered by an incised decorative panel.

Other features include an alarm on the hour and a pull hourly repeater, decorated with with ormolu mounts comprising five urn finials on the shaped top, pendant garlands to the corners, openwork panels centred on a cherub sunburst with scrollwork spandrels set into the sides, carrying handles and acanthus scroll feet, signed ‘John Taylor, London’.
