18th Century Welsh Oak Boarded Armchair with a hinged section on the seat giving access to a closed storage area beneath.
Dating to circa 1750, it has a lovely colour and surface quality with the timber clearly very carefully selected for its figuring and density making this a very heavyweight chair.
The size would indicate that this was made for the “master” of the house!
