A Selected Collection of English Derbyshire Spa Vases, Commonly known as Blue John.
Including a Pair of Matthew Boulton Goats Head Ormolu Mounted Cassolettes with an Extraordinary Rare English Cartonier (Bureau Chest of Drawers) Covered in a Geometric Design of Forty Five Selected Stones with an Interesting Hidden Secret Sliding Compartment.
The whole finished with a Pair of Original, Wonderful Chippendale Period Bronzed Lacquered Swan Neck Carrying Handles.
Of all the Mining done by the Romans Two Thousand Years Ago this particular Rare Mineral is the Most Beautiful (not to forget quite brittle).
Derbyshire Spa or Blue John is a Semi-Precious Mineral with Bands of a Purple Blue or Yellow Colour. Only found at The Blue John Cavern and Treak Cliff Cavern at Castleton in Derbyshire UK.
