French painter of landscapes, marines and coastal views. He was born at Lannoy in Northern France and was a pupil of Lehmann and Carolus Duran. He first exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1875 (Les Roches noires a Trouville).
By 1882 he was painting the ladies in their crinolines on the beach at Trouville with the finesse of Boudin and the elegance of Stevens but with many personal touches which make his Belle Epoque landscapes unique
Paintings by Rossert are in the museums at Saint-Brieuc, La Rochelle and Geneva. He was an admirer of Boudin whose influence was present in many of his paintings.
