In the first half of the 20th century the family were great patrons of the Arts and the family commissioned pieces of furniture directly from Peter Waals in the 1920’s and 1930’s  for a new interior scheme for the family home Lyndwood in Leicester.

Part of the family subsequently moved to Biniemyre in Galashiels and these pieces are from this property.
