An attractive Shakudo Black vase with striking floral design (Japanese, Circa 1890).
From our collection of antique Japanese metalware from the time of Emperor Meiji (1868-1912) this attractive Shakudo black vase, measuring 39cm in height and with a striking multi-metal patinated floral design.
The peonies are highlighted in Silver and Gold and sit atop bold red, black and Shibuichi green foliage, which travels asymmetrically across the vase. A natural form breaking up the geometric lines of the vessel.
The mark on the underside reads Dai Nimon Kyoto Kuna.
