Attractive Scottish House sampler worked by Ann Buchanan in 1839.
Typical of samplers worked in and around Edinburgh this sampler includes many of the motifs commonly found on Scottish samplers including the open tailed peacock.
This sampler very finely worked in coloured silk threads and chenille retains good colour and is in fine condition.
