Artificers Guild silver stone set oval box.
For sale is this really lovely silver stone set oval box by the Artificers Guild. The lid is highlighted with a central amethyst surrounded by green chrysoprase stones. The box has a tight fitting hinged lid that opens with the lid’s clasp. The box is fully assayed and part marked for London 1931.
The Artificers Guild was originally established by Nelson Dawson along similar lines to Charles Ashbee’s Guild of Handicrafts but quickly changed ownership and from 1902 it’s chief designer became Edward Spencer who took over the firm as a limited company in 1909.
