Art Deco bronze figure Femme a la Panthere - Albert Poncin. A very finely sculpted bonze group by the well regarded French animalier sculptor Albert Poncin. A standing female beauty gently caresses the head of the panther who is gently moving to stand behind her. Beautifully hand finished and a very fine piece. All standing on a bronze base and with a warm, rich green patina. Signed in the bronze A Poncin. Excellent original condition. A statement piece. French circa 1930.
Albert Poncin 1877-1953. Pupil of Verlet. He exhibited in the Salon des Artistes Francaises (bronze medal 1923 and gold medal 1929 ) and at the Salon des Beaux Arts. He was well known for his animalier groups. He also worked with Sevres. Listed in Hachet.
