Amazing vibrant colours on this late 19th century antique Ushak carpet, stunning green border with a soft red main field, using bold yellows, pinks and pale blues. A truly amazing colour combination from these highly sought after decorative antique carpets. Ushaks were woven in Western Anatolia which was one of the largest rug production areas since the Ottoman Empire. Their designs tend to be more open than Persian rugs and soft dyes are not uncommon.
A sturdy pile is apparent over most of this 130 year old carpet and supplied with our brilliant underlay this aids the carpet massively. As it helps prevent movement which in turn helps preserve the carpet on wooden, tiled, sisal or carpeted floors.
Please Request a Home Visit to see this beautiful Ushak carpet at home, we love to travel, having visited clients and interior designers all over the UK for the last 30 years.
