An unusual antique tie pin in the form of the head of a woodcock game bird.
It has been crafted in 18 carat yellow gold with realistic feathering and 2 Burma rubies for the eyes.
Tie pins are normally flat in design but this pin is formed of the whole head of the woodcock.
This enables the woodcock to be worn either right or left facing.
Antique piece (over 100 years old).
Late 19th century and late Victorian, English circa 1895.
