A fine late eighteenth century Scottish salver with fine bright cut Adam Style decoration hallmarked in Edinburgh in 1788 by the Glasgow maker Robert Gray.The salver was given as a present and is engraved to the back- a present from Mrs Paterson to Alexander Barton her Grandson 1788.It is engraved to the front with the original armorials of The Barton Family. The salver is circular with a beaded rim and stands on four scroll and shell feet.It is in excellent condition and was made in the year of the foundation of Australia.(See pictures for Alexander Barton’s resume)
