A fine large Antique Silver George III Lemon Strainer or fruit strainer made in 1768 by Charles Aldridge and Henry Green of London. It is very attractively hand pierced with a cast and applied handle and a clip to fit onto the punch bowl. The hallmarks are scattered within the piercing as is normal and has the benefit of being correctly part marked on the handle. Although designed for straining fruit this fine early George III piece could be used as a tea strainer.
