A magnificent French Antique 1st standard (.950 pure) silver gilt claret jug made circa 1885 by Leon Lapar of Paris.
This jug has wonderful glass that gives the effect of being rock crystal and it is encased with a beautiful silver gilt body.
A very fine jug indeed in excellent condition by a noted Parisian silversmith Leon Lapar (1878-1897) 16 Rue de Choiseul Paris).
Underneath it is struck L.Lapar Sc De Beguin. Leon Lapar took over Louis Beguin’s (1838-1878)workshop in 1878.
