This form of baluster-knopped candlestick is typical of the type you find in France and the Low Countries in the is heavily cast in brass and under the base it has been left, so you can see the marks of the sand mould it was cast in....the shaft is single moulded and peened over to join the hexagonal has a single round aperture in its socket, which is very common in Continental sticks.....overall in excellent condition.
