Antique Malayer carpet.
Antique Malayer rugs of North West Persia are highly appreciated for their craftsmanship and tight weaves. Their designs combine the grand scales of sophisticated workshop pieces and the geometric abstractions of tribal and village weavings.
This handsome early 20th century Malayer carpet has a settle caramel field which compliments the array of vegetable dyed colour combination. The overall pattern is well drawn and is framed nicely by a wide border.
A stylish example with a tribal charm and unique colours to blend in a wide variety of spaces.
