Deep indigo blue background on this geometric Karaja runner, great condition and with lovely soft terracottas, greens and ivory tones.  Dating around 1910 a hard to find narrow size runner, ideal for a hall or corridor.  Request a home visit to arrange an ideal day and time for us to visit you, viewing runners, rugs and carpets in your own home is so important so you can see if the size, colour and sit harmoniously in your home.  We travel all over the UK helping customers and interior designers, a free service we have offered for nearly 30 years.

Heriz and Karaja are not far from the Azerbaijan Border so they draw influences from many Caucasian rugs and runners. They are easily recognisable with repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. The central motif is often the latch-hooked design motif or an eight-pointed star.  The village weavings of Karaja such as this runner often use a simpler repeating medallion design with a great array of colour.
