A true masterpiece of tribal weaving, this exceptional finely woven antique Karaja carpet is one of the best we have seen in 30 years! Stunning rich saturated colours, these beautiful natural vegetable dyes have aged amazingly over the last 120 odd years.  This amazing carpet has been woven by talented weavers, who spaced the design of latch-hook motifs and eight-pointed stars in the main field incredibly well.  The green dyes and variety of colours are truly stunning and even better in real life.  Please look at all the additional images attached to see how good this carpet really is.

Please request a home visit to arrange a day and time to view this carpet at home.  Alternatively purchase online and we can ship worldwide, including free underlay to keep this beautiful antique carpet safe and secure on the floor.

Karaja carpets and rugs were woven in a village in the northeast of the Heriz region of Persia, not far from the Azerbaijan Border.  Their carpets and rugs often use 8 pointed star motifs and sometimes they weave in animals and people which adds great interest. They are easily recognisable with three repeating medallions similar to those in caucasian rugs. Other designs are the latch-hooked design a tribal motif we can see on this rich exciting carpet.

We offer the service of viewing any of our carpets & rugs in-situ in London, Surrey, Hampshire & the UK by appointment.  A free, no obligation service we have offered for over 30 years.
