A really stunning antique Heriz carpet woven around 1900-1910 with a rare and hard to find all over gold leaf design. The vibrancy to the colours is wonderful, we have professionally washed this carpet and the colours have really cleaned up spectacularly.  Most antique Heriz carpets were woven with a central medallion motif and elaborate corner spandrels. This carpet is more refined and classical with the repeating all over leaves.  Lovely rich reds, soft greens, muted golden yellows and soft blues on a warm red background have been used to create an elegant carpet. Ideal to use under a dining table in a study or drawing room. In excellent original condition, the pile height is very good throughout. The original fringes and side selvedges are all secure too.

We offer the service of viewing any of our carpets & rugs in-situ in London, Surrey, Hampshire & the UK by appointment. Please use our request home visit service to view this antique Heriz carpet in your own home.

Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another. Some draw influences from further north into the Caucasus and vivid colours like this particular carpet.  A decorative yet practical carpet which has been used for over 100 years and stood the test of time.
