Large oversize antique Heriz carpet in outstanding condition all over. Lovely soft pale blues in the corner spandrels with subtle green tones and a striking central medallion. Beautifully well drawn carpet with great detail.  The 'abrash' which is the term for dye change in the blue corners is exceptional and adds great charm.  This carpet has been woven by excellent weavers in Heriz as the design is well constructed and the central medallion has been beautifully executed.

The pile is very high on this piece and would be a durable addition to many rooms.

Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another. Some draw influences from further north into the Caucasus and vivid colours like this particular carpet.  A decorative yet practical carpet which has been used for over 100 years and stood the test of time.
