Persian Heriz woven around 1890-1900 with a rich array of colour and in good condition. Lovely ivory corners on a soft terracotta background have been used to create an elegant rug ideal for under a dining table or drawing room. We have also placed many of this type in a study too as they work with dark woods and oak furniture beautifully.
Persian Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another. Some draw influences from further north into the Caucasus and vivid colours like this particular carpet. A decorative yet practical carpet which has been used for over 100 years and stood the test of time.
