A vivid antique Heriz carpet woven with great detail and striking colours. In very good condition all over, the pale blue dyes with the unusual sandy yellow border add a lot of interest to this piece. Heriz carpets more than often were woven with central medallions, so they vary greatly because of their colours and dyes that have been used. This piece would sit happily under a dining table in a study or in a living room.
Heriz carpets have always been regarded as beautiful, tough objects of decoration, made in the north-west of Persia these handwoven works of art always have variations from one piece to another. Some draw influences from further north into the Caucasus and vivid colours like this particular carpet. A decorative yet practical carpet which has been used for over 100 years and stood the test of time.
