Antique Bakshayish carpet.
Antique Bakshayish carpets were woven in a region of north west Persia where Heriz-Serapi carpets are also woven. They bear similar resemblances to their Heriz cousins but are more unique due to their spontaneity and bold expressiveness which makes them more abstract. Hence, they are much sought after.
This early example has a simple quiet drawing with a natural vegetable dyed colour variation giving it great depth and richness. A handsome piece which would complement contemporary and classic settings nicely. A one of a kind. For any queries or to view this carpet in situ or in our showroom, please contact us.
