A delightful mid 19th century camphor wood Military Campaign Trunk of good proportions, having original brass bound decoration and carrying handles raised on later brass paw feet.

This trunk would originally have been made for a sergeant to transport around from battlefield to battlefield being placed in his tent at each location, hence the carrying handles and double lock.

It has been constructed from camphor wood as this is a well known wood for keeping clothes and linen smelling fresh and clean.

Nowadays of course this would make the perfect coffee table with storage, or could simply be used as a storage chest/trunk in a variety of different places around the home whilst allowing the
purchaser to imagine all sorts of tales and stories from it's no doubt rich and glorious history!
