A very unusual 18th Century simulated walnut and parcel gilt Wall Mirror, having elegant fretwork carved frame and replaced mirror plate.

This elegant mirror has been made in the middle of the 18th century at a time when if you couldn't afford to purchase the most expensive of veneers it was beginning to become fashionable to use painting techniques to simulate that wood.

This is a great example of it's type and has real elegance. The mirror plate is a relatively recent replacement but this of course makes it very much fit for purpose.

Circa 1740.

Height - 36in.
Width - 24in.
