ANGLO INDIAN PADOUK BIRDCAGE TRIPOD TABLE.
CIRCA 1780.
The well figured circular top with single reeded edge and birdcage action supported on a gun barrel column with muscular fluted cabriole legs terminating in claw feet.
The exaggerated form of the base of this table, the use of a single reeded edge to create the illusion of a dish top and the use of padouk suggest a colonial origin.
