This rare early 15th century English angel holds a single candlestick, his divided fingers spread around the central disk. With soft facial features and double chin lowered, he gazes slightly downwards towards the viewer. Retaining much of the original polychrome and with traces of gilding, this work exudes a warmth and serene presence.
