22nd Cheshire Regiment of Foot  - A Pair of Light Company Officer’s Wings, 1840.

Gilt brass, silver and gold bullion wire, on crimson velvet lined leather. Comprising triple rows of interlinked chains across the shoulder and extending over each wing, applied with a regimental button at the neck, and centered at the shoulder on a boss applied with the light infantry bugle and cords, with graduated triple chain link rows extending horizontally to the tips. Edged in a bullion wire border and and terminating in a bullion wire fringe. Each  with applied paper labels, ’LEFT’ and ‘RIGHT’ respectively, and retaining ribbon ties. Contained in their original carrying case.

Contemporaneous with the 22nd’s Foot participation in the Conquest of Scinde under General Sir Charles Napier in 1843.
