Two late 19th / early 20th century turned Welsh stools. Each with a thick dished sycamore top and three ash legs. These stools are sometimes known as milking stools and whilst they were used for this purpose, they were also just general stools which could be moved easily to be near a window when a domestic job, such as spinning or preparing food which required light in what would otherwise have been the dark interior of a cottage or farmhouse.
North Pembrokeshire / Cardiganshire, West Wales.
