A very good quality 19th century Victorian Burr Walnut Sutherland Table, having superbly figured two drop flap top.

Raised on elegant turned and carved upright supports terminating with original brass castors.

The term “Sutherland Table” is believed to originate from the first full size, non “baby” variants of these tables being named after The Duchess Of Sutherland, Mistress Of The Robes To Queen Victoria.

It is now more common to find the smaller, baby variants on sale. But these full size, original full proportioned sutherland tables are also incredibly well desired for both their functionality and beauty.

Constructed from superbly figured walnut, this is an exceptionally nice example of its type and exudes elegance.

Circa 1870.

Height - 26.5in.
Width - 6.5in (flaps down).
Width - 29in (flaps up).
Depth - 24.5in.
