Southwest Persian long rug of Kelleh proportions dating to the late 19th century.
The carpet is woven in a wool pile on a wool foundation, with extremely soft, lustrous wool. The warm colours, too, are soft and beautifully saturated.
The field design of ten vertical stripes containing a chain of flowering shrubs is echoed in the main border on a white ground.
The carpet is in excellent condition.
