A mid 19th century red japanned tole chocolate tin from a shop display, with a hinged lid, the front with a gilt border decoration and inscribed ‘CHOCOLADE 2’, and stamped to the back with an oval makers mark inscribed ‘JOHN A. GILBERT & CO. MAKERS LONDON’.
