19th Century Rectangular Gilt Wall Mirror.
An Attractive Late 19th Century, Victorian Period, Rectangular Gilt and Gesso Wall Mirror, Having Old Bevelled Mirror Plate Within Cushion Frame With Richly Carved Foliate Decoration And Egg and Dart Outer Border.
This good quality and attractive 19th century wall mirror has both elegance and presence at the same time. The frame is well carved and detailed without being overly fussy, resulting in a look which could be utilised in a wide variety of different settings and schemes.
The mirror is also a good size, big enough to be noticed, but not so big that it is totally dominant, which in combination with the ability to hang it either portrait or landscape, again adds to the myriad of different places this mirror could be hung.
Overall the condition is good, with just the expected old marks, scuffs and repairs for a mirror of this age, but certainly nothing visually displeasing or unpleasant in that respect. Also the attractive bevelled mirror plate is probably original but we cannot guarantee that.
As with all items which we offer for sale this 19th century gilt mirror has been inspected at our workshops by our highly skilled, well trained antique furniture restorers to ensure it is in the absolute best possible condition before being placed on sale.
