About the object

Signed on the obverse and dated 1835, was fully signed on the reverse now only part of the signature remaining, in silver metal ornamented frame


The enamel is after R.E Pine's portrait of Garrick, now in the National Portrait Gallery


Garrick was one of the most celebrated theatrical personalities of his day. He was an actor, dramatist and theatre manager. He brought half the patent of Drury Lane in 1747 and was associated with that theatre until his retirement, when he sold his share to Richard Brinsley Sheridan.
