French Louis Philippe mahogany gueridon table with wonderfully figured grey marble top.
French circa 1840.
The finely figured and unusual circular grey marble top with hand moulded edge resting on a plain mahogany frieze with cockbead surround, over a gadrooned baluster stem terminating on a triform base with lions paw and foliate carved feet raised on the original castors.
In excellent condition, whilst the base is good quality but an often seen model the marble is an extremely rare and choice cut….almost like timber, wonderful colour and veining.
Nice size at 98cm diameter it would make an ideal centre or hall table.
