19th century claret jug.
A 19th century silver mounted cut glass claret jug. The ornate silver collar decorated to one side with a musician playing the bagpipes and a dancer, to the obverse, three men seated at a table.
Acanthus leaf decorated spout and hinged lid with tree motif and acorn finial. Acanthus ‘C’ scroll handle.
Ovoid body to flared, star cut foot. Facetted neck to ornately cut body incorporating cross-cut diamond, diamond and rosette cut patterns within deep cross cuts.
London hallmark for 1897 and makers mark A.C. in a shield for Alexander Clark of Fenchurch Street, London.
