This verdure tapestry panel dates to the middle of the 18th century.
It depicts an idyllic scene of large birds around a stream flanked by trees. The centre of the tapestry is taken up by a large mansion or castle on top of a hillock. It is woven in very light colours, which form a contrast to the darker greens, blues and browns of the landscape. A water feature at the bottom of the landscaped garden around the mansion feeds into the stream.
The tapestry panel has an excellent, almost square size.
Wool and silk, some repairs in keeping with age, but overall in very good condition.
