A Silver mounted Black Jack or 'Piggin' from the first half of the 18th Century. With a silver rim with pendant lappets and an engraved silver armorial badge. The foot rim is stitched as is the handle with a basal 'kick'. The motto translates as 'a cunning mind wins'.
