18th Century Painted Mirror.
A George IV period oval shaped white painted mirror.
Finely carved stiff leaf cartouche surmounts an oval shaped frame. The centre cartouche is carved with large inverted 'C ' scrolled acanthus leaf decoration with trailing harebell swags that sit above out-swept open fret worked stiff leaf decoration.
The 18th century mirror plate is probably the original and is decorated with an outer guilloche style inner moulding, with inverted 'C' scrolls and stiff leaf carving to the centre section of the apron.
