BADA 2020A Very Fine Quality Late 18th Century Mahogany Serpentine
Dressing Table Side Cabinet Having Well Figured Top Over
Central Drawer With Fitted Interior Retaining Original Brass
Handles Flanked By Curved Cupboard Doors Raised On
Elegant Square Tapering Legs
(This dressing table is an interesting example of it's period,
taking the form of a side cabinet, which is rarely seen. The
selection of timbers, secondary timbers and even brasswear
are of the highest quality and suggest that it has emanated
out of one of the very top workshops of the time, possibly
Gillows of Lancaster. It has retained its splendid decorative
brasswear which is a great feature. Very much fit for original
purpose with the fitted interior to the central drawer it could
also be used in a variety of other locations offering good storage
solutions in terms of the cupboard doors. It has a real elegance
and will definitely add to the aesthetic of any room that it
ends up being placed in.)
