18th Century Italian Baroque Walnut Table.
Dates: 1700-1750.
Dimensions:
112.00cm high (44.09 inches high).
75.50cm wide (29.72 inches wide).
60.00cm deep (23.62 inches deep).
Description / Expertise:
A rare, narrow, Italian, baroque, walnut, cabinet or sidetable.
This table has unusual, narrow proportions and was probably originally conceived as a stand for a table cabinet or as a sidetable for a collectors closet.
Characteristic one piece walnut top with stunning lustrous, rich patina and beautiful figuring.
The lyre ends are elegant and fluid. The iron foils create the stablility with a simple and open aesthetic.
Very few Italian tables were made of this narrow size and I have only seen a handful over the last 20 years, mostly united with table cabinets.
