18th Century Flamed Walnut Mirror.

An early George II 18th century flamed walnut and gesso wall mirror.

The swan neck pediment with gesso scrolls, acanthus leaf mouldings surmounted onto a flamed walnut background, above vertical cut veneers above a double gesso border.  The figured walnut is lively and the scale of the mirror frame is elegant.

The George II mirror has retained its original vauxhall mercury mirror plate.  The mirror does have foxing to the plate but you can see yourself when looking into the mirror with 50-60% clarity.

The bottom section to the mirror is shapely and well drawn.
