18th century coach panel painted with a double headed eagle.
Few coach panels survive. This is a striking example with the double headed eagle, gilded armorial and burgundy background.
The closest I can find to arms of Or, a double-headed Eagle displayed Sable, are the arms of Bouverie, originally Des Bouverie, Earls of Radnor Per fes Or and Argent a double headed Eagle displayed Sable.
The gilded shield with a double-headed black eagle on a white ground. The panel on a brown ground with a black edge. Oil on panel.
Circa 1750 - 1850.
