A 17th century metallic thread needlework, circa 1650-80.
Possibly a book binding, surround for a mirror or for a votive, designed with floral arabesques arranged around a central aperture, worked in metallic threads, metal purl and coloured silks and decorated with spangles, framed and glazed, aperture 8cm x 5cm.
