A RARE MID 15TH CENTURY OAK AND IRONBOUND OFFERTORY BOX. CIRCA 1460.
CARVED FROM ONE PIECE OF OAK, THE SQUARE IRONBOUND TOP WITH IRON COIN SLOT ABOVE IRON STRAPS AND HINGES. IT HAS A LOCKING PIN AND HASP WHICH PROTRUDES RIGHT THROUGH THE BOX TO THE BACK. THE SHAPED STAND WITH MOULDED BASE AND IRON CHAIN MOUNT. A PIECE OF OAK HAS BEEN ADDED AT SOME POINT TO MAKE IT STAND LEVEL.
