 A MAGNIFICENT LATE 15TH CENTURY GOTHIC OAK THRONE CHAIR. FRENCH. CIRCA 1480.

THIS FINE 15TH CENTURY CARVED OAK THRONE CHAIR HAS A PIERCED TRACERY CRESTING FLANKED BY CARVED FINIALS, THE CENTRAL CARVED BACK PANEL IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY CARVING, WITH GOTHIC TRACERY CENTRED BY A CROWNED SHIELD WITH THREE FLEUR-DE-LYS TO THE CENTRE. THE SHAPED ARM RESTS ABOVE A LINENFOLD PANELLED BOX SEAT.THE ORIGINAL LOCKPLATE REMAINS. OLD RESTORATION TO SEAT BOARD AND FEET, THE PIERCED TOP CRESTING RAIL IS A 19TH CENTURY ADDITION.
GOOD COLOUR AND PATINATION, VERY STURDY.
