THIS WONDERFUL 15TH CENTURY CARVED OAK THRONE CHAIR HAS A PIERCED GOTHIC TRACERY CRESTING RAIL FLANKED BY CARVED FINIALS. THE CENTRAL PANEL IS ESQUISETELY CARVED WITH GOTHIC TRACERY, CENTRED BY TWO CROWNED SHIELDS WITHIN GOTHIC ARCHES, ONE WITH THREE FLEUR-DE LYS CARVED WITHIN, THE OTHER A SINGLE FLEUR-DE-LYS TO THE LEFT QUADRANT. THE SHAPED ARMS ABOVE A PANELLED BOX SEATED BASE WITH LINENFOLD SIDES AND A GOTHIC TRACERY FRONT. ORIGINAL LOCKPLATE AND HINGES. MINOR RESTORATIONS, THE TOP CRESTING RAIL IS A 19TH CENTURY ADDITION. GOOD COLOUR AND PATINATION. VERY STURDY CHAIR.
