15th Century English Oak carved Beam Cap, circa 1470. It is probably from East Anglia given its style of carving with the hair flowing out to the sides, the collar, and the lower section of the garment positioned to be floating on a stylised cloud. Examples of these features can be seen in the V & A publication, “English Medieval Furniture and Woodwork” by Charles Tracey.
Dimensions, Height 24 centimetres, Width 14.5 centimetres.
