Grey-Harris Jubilee Exhibition Captured by Nature

To celebrate their 50th year, Grey-Harris & Co will be mounting two simultaneous exhibitions of contemporary work at their Clifton showrooms.

'Wood Paper Thread - A Journey'

By Michael McCaldin (b.1962). This exhibition consists of books made from thick hand made papers, embodying journeys by using natural materials encountered en route.

Snake skins, grasses, reeds, leaves, and all manner of substances bind and entwine along the way. These sensitive and beautiful volumes speak eloquently of nature and life.

The artist was a local GP, has exhibited at the Off Centre Gallery, Bristol and the Royal West of England Academy.

'Art in Nature'

By the silversmith Hal Messel (b. 1986) will be exhibiting ornamental tableware, salts, centrepieces and candlesticks, encrusted with sea forms, corals, crystals and shells.

His traditional skills, exotic and imaginative designs, combined with these natural forms have resulted in notable commissions.

One of which is on permanent display at St George's Chapel Windsor Castle.
