14th October 2021

Complimentary for BADA Friends; £10 for non-members

The relationship between the art dealers, collectors and curators has, since the development of public art museums in the 19th century, been deeply intertwined.  These relationships have facilitated the presence of many thousands of artworks in public art museums all over the world. This event, in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Friends of the British Antique Dealers’ Association, brings together leading art dealers, collectors and curators to discuss and debate these relationships, whilst highlighting some key artworks now on display in major public museums that are the fruitful result of these symbiotic relationships.

Moderated by Dr Mark Westgarth, University of Leeds with panellists Dr Susanna Avery-Quash, National Gallery, Jeremy Howard, Senior Lecturer in History of Art at the University of Buckingham and Old master paintings specialist at Colnaghi and Charles Sebag-Montefiore, collector and author.
